Salary: $75,000-$90,000

Reporting to VP of Manufacturing

Position Overview:

Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develop 3D CAD models of product. Create and maintain product specs.
  • Guides maintenance tech(s) on projects and priorities
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Uses technical expertise in developing and improving on automation systems for high volume production. Identify methods to improve capacity and reduce cycle times and scrap rates through automation.
  • Meet tight product launch schedules. Work with manufacturing team and vendors on all process areas to meet capacity requirements by agreed upon date.
  • Act as liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing with respect to new product launch efforts. Follow manufacturing systems design process for new model launches and work to setup trial runs, document results, develop production methods.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation such as Manufacturing Instructions, PFMEAs and Control Plans
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Develops and maintains product and process knowledge database
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Develop and maintain 2D AutoCAD plant layouts

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
  • The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience 
  • CAD (2D and 3D) experience 
  • Strong technical aptitude, and quick study is key
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks unsupervised
  • Dealing with complexity and tight schedules
  • Manufacturing Methods and Procedures followed
